I have this interesting Spoon. Marked on the backside with Sterling and "R&b(?)" also could be "R38" or similar.
Maybe somebody can help.

Nice piece, it was made by Gorham, 1860s-70s, possibly designed by George Wilkinson - he patented a number of designs for Gorham with similar elements. It wouldn't have been a full-line pattern, and I don't find in any of my references. Usually pretty good on flowers and plants, but not sure on this one - perhaps bilberries or blueberries, or maybe rosehips...

Hi Cherly,

MANY THANKS!! for the quick and great info.

Just looked on the gorham page. I think it is the middle Picture.

My wife ment it could be "lily of the valley" Motiv.

Helped me on here, many thanks again and have a great x-mas!

regards

Mike

Happy Holidays to you too, Mike. Have collected Lily of the Valley spoons for over thirty years (my birth-flower), and Gorham did make similar designs with that motif, but this is not one of them, the leaves are completely wrong and those appear to be berries or seedpods rather than blossoms...
