Unknown Mark on this Sterling Spoon

Postby enchantmentglass » Sat Apr 08, 2006 2:24 pm

Hello!
I'm wondering about this spoon - silver is not my forte, so I hope I'm giving you enough info here. First, I would love to know the maker and time frame of this piece. Also, what exactly would a piece with the scalloped and turned under edges be used for? The spoon is about 7.5" long. Please see my photos? Thanks very much...

Kelli

Your piece is made by Watson, and it is in the Jefferson pattern, first introduced in 1900. It is a casserole/berry spoon.

dmay, THANK YOU so very much! I am thrilled that the pattern is named, and that it is American. :) I appreciate the help!
