What is the "R" on this Gorham Teaspoon?

Postby jgerling » Fri Mar 31, 2006 1:07 am

The teaspoon is Gorham Chantilly pattern with Pat. 95 near the hallmark.

The question is what does the "R" left of the hallmark signify? "R" is not included in the date codes for Gorham and I have not seen this mark on any other Gorham item.

Thank you for your help.

I'm not certain of this, but believe that some flatware was introduced in different weights. R may mean regular?
