Hi,

That is indeed Gorham's mark.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html

Trev, Thank you, The bowl is marked sterling, but when I go to polish it, it just does not want to polish like normal silver, has a metallic cast to it, yellowish, almost like plated, I
Do you have knowledge as to whether there is something different about the silver of this period from this manufacturer, or one has to clean it differently.
Is there a good site for appraisal of Gorham silver
Thanks
JK

You're already here. Let's see some images of the piece, but remember to crop your photos.

it is 15 inch bowl and with handles 21 inches, and 11 inches high
says 1897 to 1911 probably comemorating an anniversary
What bothers me is can't seem to really get a good polish on it. always seems to have a yellowish cast.

The ladle looks like Gorham's 1905 pattern Old French. However, it may have another name because of the engraving. Sometimes that makes a difference with manufacturers.
