Having a tough time identifying this hallmark

Postby john27 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:15 am

Hello friends,

I am new to the forum and silver collecting, so I apologize if my first post is to ask a question. I have a collection of spoons and I am having trouble discerning it's hall mark.

My novice eye tells me it's a Towle hallmark, but if by examples Towle has only examples of very intricate designs and patterns, while the spoon I am showing you are plain and simple in design.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Welcome, John ~ You have the manufacturer correct, it's Towle's classic Lafayette pattern, introduced in 1905.
