Need Help (again)

Postby larrywseale » Wed Jun 15, 2011 1:46 pm

I have a piece that I can't identify - the closest I can come up with is H. H. Curtis but it doesn't look quite right. Between the picture being a little blurry & wear to the mark on my piece along with old eyes & a dull mind, it's tough. I'm asking a lot but if someone can identify the maker, perhaps they seen the pattern before & can help me out. Finally, what the heck is it? Perhaps a pickle or relish fork? Thanks -larry-

It's H.H. Curtis, quite a few variations in their trademark, with the griffin or dragon head shown facing both left and right. Right off hand, can't recall seeing pattern "names" associated with Curtis, but the design patent (#D28408) for your pattern was issued to Henry H. Curtis on March 29, 1898.
