Can Anybody Identify This Animal-Looking Hallmark?

Postby cslasor » Sun Jan 15, 2006 4:05 pm

I have a silver spoon with a handle decorated in enamel that has a hallmark that looks like something that should be identifiable, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere. Here are the spoon pictures:

The back is marked "325" and "Sterling". It's definitely a "325" and not "825", so I don't really know what that means either.

This spoon was part of a collection of 21 other spoons that are all Scandinavian or Russian, so it seems likely that this one is too.

Thanks for any help, and let me know if the pictures didn't come out.

It appears to be the mark for the H.H. Curtis Company of North Attleboro, MA. They were in business as early as 1891 and sold at auction in 1915. They made jewelry, table and flatware.
