Need help for identification of a maker and age

Postby frenchie_myriam » Sun Dec 11, 2005 5:30 pm

Hello everyone,

Look at this bottle. The cover is Sterling and the hallmarks show a kind of laying animal then it is written " STERLING 9 100 REINE 2932 POPPY"

Thanking you in advance for your answer. Best Regards. Myriam

Hi Myriam,

Your pictures have been enlarged so much that they're very fuzzy. Believe that it probably says "925/1000 FINE", rather than "9 100 REINE", "POPPY" would be the pattern. The trademark is just too indistinct to make out, but something about the shape of it makes me think of Mauser Mfg. Co., and they did make similar dresser items, marked like yours, including the 925-over-1000 FINE mark.

Dear Cheryl, Thanks again you are a gem and I agree with you now watching the true hallmark, that it is indeed MAUSER.

Best Regards. Myriam
