Maker's Mark

Salt & Pepper Shaker (Individual) 1-1/4 Inch tall

An auction house has similar item identified as V. Lollo (N.Y) but the mark does not look like the one listed in American Marks.

I am thinking it is Dutch, Valdemar Lind if I read the information on Dutch marks correctly.

Based on the use of "Sterling" manufactured after 1977.

Any thoughts, any information appreciated.

Valdemar Aage Lind would be a Danish maker rather than Dutch, but your shakers are American, manufactured by V. Lollo of Brooklyn, NY. Have seen dozens of them over the years, some pairs and sets in the original cardboard boxes. Rainwater shows V. Lollo as producing sterling salt & peppers circa 1950, and most of the original boxes I've seen would appear to be post WWII, but there are patents from the early 1930s, issued to Alfred Lollo of Brooklyn for shakers and shaker trays.

Oops, just double-checked , that's Arthur Lollo.
