help on a silver bowle

Hello,
i am kindly asking for help on this bowle from my grandmother. I hope i am in the right section with this. I got the item from germany. I am wondering about the silver- procentage and origian . The bowle has the number 1895 as a date on top. But what means 3815?

Hi Gabriella

This is American sterling silver.
Check out the Gorham pages. Your hallmarks are listed there. The three hallmarks on the top indicate the manufaturer, Gorham. The half moon ist the date stamp for 1895, the number inbetween is an item or pattern number.
Sterling means your item has a silver purity of 925/1000, means 92.5% silver.
