Need Help with a Sterling "R" Hallmark ID...

Postby ridgeesales » Mon Oct 10, 2005 7:52 pm

Hello all. Thanks for checking out this post. I have a pair of small sterling nut dishes with a hall mark that reads "Sterling Silver" & a "R" inside a square. Attached the the dishes when I got them was a tag that read "CDN RODIN". CDN might stand for Canadian? I've been trying to search online & here, but haven't came across this manufacturer. Maybe the tag has thrown me off. Anyone have any ideas, or know who this marker is? Thanks! Herb

Further research shows that the tag was wrong. This mark was for the Canadian firm "Roden Brothers". They were purchased by Birks in 1928. I don't think this company is in the database here, if someone wants to add it - you are very welcome to use my photos. Best Regards, Herb

Herb,
Thank you, much appreciated, it's now in the database.
