Is it possible that the the "X" is the 1920 date mark for Whiting? Maybe the Whiting mark has been rubbed out with time?

It is possible but I don't find any remnant of a mark at all (at least not near the numbers). I would like to see the date mark on another Whiting piece to see if it's similar but have not found one yet. Thanks for looking!
