Item must be marked "Sterling" or "925"

Unknown mark on chalk holder.

Hi,

Im trying to identify this hallmark but i havent got any luck.
(admin edit - see Posting Requirements)

The item was pruchased in St. Louis, Mo area and was used to store Billiard chalk in it.

This is all the info i have available.
Can anyone id the maker or the date?

Frank M. Whiting is the manufacturer, not sure how difficult or uncommon the acid-etching is - I have dozens of souvenir spoons decorated with the technique.
