The sigature appears to read (Edn Lan Rovann or Piovann) Hoping that someone might recongnize the correct spelling and origin. ImageImage

I'd guess the last name is Giovanni.

Hi,
Yes, it's Edw. San Giovanni. I've never been able to find out much about Edward. He held a couple of design patents, filed from a NY address in the 1940s, on silver objects. Offhand, I can only remember one for a wine coaster. Over the years, I've seen only four or five pieces with his mark, all small table items, and all thin, spun silver. Your piece looks much more substantial than those I've seen.
