Sterling Silver Monteith Bowl Marked "KS" in a Keystone

Post by tlinkenhoker »

I acquired a sterling silver Monteith bowl that is engraved with oriental scenes on three side panels. The piece is very similar to a bowl produced by Tiffany Makers. My piece is marked with the letters K and S inside of a keystone shape. Any help identifying the maker is much appreciated.

Likely Keystone Silver Co. which was noted in following of 1914 as intending Sterling production: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=36151&p=156828&hil ... 63#p156828

Basic mark is usually found under silverplate listings, but Rainwater/Redfield does have one Keystone mark with separate superimposed letters of K S Co each shielded, so this may be a simplification of marks. Was noted as still working and also putting out Sterling.
