Walker and Hall Silverplate Spoons

Postby lindsaylou » Sat Jul 28, 2007 10:38 pm

Hi, we have come into a set of twelve teaspoons (I believe) that are Walker and Hall. From the information I've gathered on the website I believe that they are silverplate.

The photos have not turned out very well but attached is a what we have gathered. I will amend if I can get better photos.

The shading was taken of the spoon and the hand drawn symbols were what didn't take very well.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

lindsaylou.
Those silverplate marks were used by Walker & Hall, Sheffield, England.
Can't help you with a date. George Walker and Henry Hall started using the flag mark around 1861.
Continued it's use at least into the 1970's.

Hello Lindsaylou,

That is a pattern called “Venitian” and if I am reading your etching correctly your spoons were made in 1887.

Paul.
