Dear Forum,
Who can tell me more about this particular silversmith mark of George Richmond Collis and the gothic characters, which read like EPCS, is it for electro plated copper? Does anybody recognize the Coat of Arms?
I welcome all comment. Thanks very much.

I believe the letters are EPGS, which stands for ElectroPlated German Silver.
German silver was another name used for nickel silver .
George Richmond Collis was a 19th century Birmingham manufacturer.
Later in their history they had a retail shop at 130 Regent Street in London, England.
Maybe the most famous sale they made there was the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup, better known as the Stanley Cup.
It was purchased for Lord Stanley of Preston by Captain Charles Colville around 1893.

Thanks Pat.
Does electroplated german silver if not polished shines with a warm golden glow?
