Can Anyone Identify these hallmarks on Silver Bridal Basket?

Postby smile41 » Sun Jul 22, 2007 1:19 pm

Hi! I have a silver bridal basket with cherubs on it and it has the numbers 2504 plus two hallmarks I can't identify. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

Well, I'll make a stab - the first photo looks like the 'W & S' shown in Rainwater's 4th Ed. for E.G. Webster & Son (E G W & S). That reference also shows the use of a fleur de lis, tho not with the star.

The top mark does resemble the last three symbols in Webster's script mark.
Problem is, usually they are preceded by an E and G. Have not seen the W&S by itself before.
