Martin Hall & Co. bowl

Postby fgasoi » Mon Aug 15, 2005 9:20 am

I have a silver-rimmed salad bowl with a mark indicating it was made by Martin Hall & Co. Company was active from 1854 to 1936 in Sheffield, London and Chester. However, the marks bear no relation I can see to these cities, nor can I interpret them to give me a date. I am not even sure of the correct orientation - as you can see the makers mark is sideways on. Any help would be appreciated. Images are attached.

The other marks are EPNS for Electro Plated Nickel Silver. The rim is silverplated over a metal alloy containing no silver. There is no date mark.
