three trident or crown marks on mystery scoop

Postby treenorth » Wed Aug 10, 2005 11:12 am

I found this set of sivler or silver plated (I don't know the difference) almond scoops or they could be spoon caddys.
There is a mark on handle of three little crown like marks . These may not be crowns but that is what they look like.
I have no clue as I am just starting to get interested in silver.
Is it really a hallmark or is it imitation? These were a flea market find. Any ideas?

Silverplate made by the Three Crowns Silversmiths of Pottstown, PA; in business from 1946 until sometime in the '60s, specializing in Scandinavian-style pieces.

Three Crowns dish

Postby Lisa496 » Sun Oct 02, 2005 12:53 pm

I have the same dish with the same three crowns on the back of the stem but mine has an etching in the dish itself of what appears to be a queen (about an inch high and an inch wide) the writing is hard to see, the first three letters or numbers I can not make out but the rest reads "of N.A."
I was hoping someone might know what it is. Thank you, Lisa
