M. M. C. Silverplate?

Postby IggyPup » Wed May 09, 2007 2:14 pm

This piece belongs to a friend and I can't find what it is.
The first letter is an M, and the second one may be another M or it may just be a symbol.
Thanks

I was thinking maybe swiss or german because they often spell silverplate as "Zilverplate" but that's as far as I got.

I have a similar platter and a coffee urn to match with the same marks. I, too, have not been able to find the makers name. The platter has "Zilverplatter" under the hallmark. The coffee urn only has the hallmark (no Zilverplatter). Any further information on these items would be greatly appreciated. BTW- we found these pieces laying on the side of the road (one foot missing from the platter, the coffee urn handle is broken off, but we have it). Plan on having repaired.[/img]

Hi,
Don't know who the mark belongs to, but it is more than likely American. It says "Silverplated", but it is badly stamped.
Regards, Tom
