Genuine or fake?

Postby darotob » Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:24 am

I have tea set (3 pieces) weighting 72 ounces marked "Made in England" but with strange (in my opinion hallmarks. See the picture. I think it is fake (I can not find anything in hallmark books even slightly resembling the marks) but I would appreciate any comment from people more knowledgeable on the subject

Made in England, probably. Sterling silver? Unlikely. There is no Lion Passant etc. The Lion is probably the logo for the Silver Plate company that created the piece.
