Owl & 995% Hallmark?

Post by gee »

Hi all

I have a couple of old Italian Candle sticks with unusual markings. Can anyone tell me what they mean. Have taken photos with a couple of different light sources so hopefully you can see.

Cheers
Gillian

They are pewter. 95% is the normal percentage of tin in the alloy. Maybe someone will recognise the owl trade mark.

Thanks Phil! I wonder if they are plated on top of the pewter....they aren't as grey as pewter normally is?
