Silver Asparagus Tongs Worn Hallmark

Post by D.Elvery-Knight »

I have a pair of silver asparagus tongs that have the maker's initials that read I. Y. & S, which I can not identify anywhere, the date letter is I and the closest I can find is London 1904, the sterling and town marks are quite worn.

...and I must point out, in case you didn't realise it from Trev's links, that your tongs are electroplated and not silver.

Thanks, Phil I did a magnet test but the base metal is not magnetic, being an early piece... I did suspect that they were plated,
