Early French silverplate (?) - Lozenge marks

Post by varadino »

Hi all,

It has been a while since I have in my collection one antique cutlery I have no clue whether even it is made of silver or silverplate. It is a fork with a thread design and though its marks are pretty much worn off, I really hope that somebody might have some valuable information to tell about it.
From the lozenge cartouches of two marks (one of which resembles a capital letter "E") I would assume French origin but there is nothing I can be assured of. I have purchased this piece at a Copenhagen antiques mall.
I appreciate any kind of information. Pictures below.

Happy holidays!
