Christofle Large Spoon Identification Sought

Post by dartsil »

Hi all.

I wonder if anyone can tell me exactly the purpose of this very heavy Christofle spoon, only thing I can think of it is an actual spoon rest?

It is very heavy, weighing 194g and measures 163mm in length and 100mm across.

Mark would appear to be the one used from 1935, not sure if this mark was retired or still in use.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Colin

Appears I have found the answer.

Would appear to be a strawberry spoon

Hello
This is a strawberry serving spoon, as seen by the berry on the finial, and strawberry flowers and foliage on the stem. This model came in various sizes (2-3).
