Silverplated Dish

Postby tillypuss36 » Mon Jul 27, 2020 11:15 am

Hi,

I am trying to identify this dish. I have found 2 of them clearing out my late father’s house. From what I cam told they where owned by another relative and are from around the 1900’s or earlier. But I cannot seem to identify the marks. It looks like Elkington and co but there are 2 marks of the e. Does anybody know what it is? Thanks James

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

I've noted the mark in the past as being attributed to George Hawksley & Co. of Sheffield, but I have no idea as to why they may have used a 'C.C. Co.' mark or as to the strength of the attribution. If nothing else, it's a route for further research.
