British Hallmark Question - Sugar spoon

Hi all,

Ive spent the past few hours trying to find the symbol date and maker of this silver sugar spoon but i dont have any confidence in my own ability. Im hoping someone could confirm this for me please?

Your tongs are not silver so the marks are not a hallmark. Although I don't recognise the maker from their initials (either A L, with the second L signifying London, or A L L). The BP mark shows that the tongs' composition is Britannia Plate, i.e. electroplated Britannia metal, the latter being a pewter-like white metal.

This is probably why i struggled, I have some family heirlooms which I want to get checked out too as one has no makers marks but i'm sure they're some sort of silver but wondering who would be best to take them too to get checked out - i don't want to take them to a pawn shop but i don't know any other type of business that would do this?

To my knowledge this is a product of John Round & Sons of Sheffield.

The 'ALL' being a shorten part of their registered full trade name 'ALL ROUND THE WORLD'

Thank you Trev, but still Britannia plate / pewter and not silver right? I googled their hallmarks but couldn't find any similar to this.
