John Round & Sons Mark?

Postby hpidaves » Mon Jul 29, 2019 9:06 pm

I have some smaller silverplate forks that appear to have the mark of John Round and Sons, but I haven't seen this exact mark anywhere online. I'm interested as to whether or not they are John Round & Sons, what the pattern is, and approximate age based upon the mark.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Let's add these samples of variants: http://www.silvercollection.it/ENGLAJOHNROUND.html

Using G-books on-line....Now JC for July 5 1899 shows this form (1 of 3 marks) for JR & S Ltd, but with JR as a single mark and EP turned 90 degrees from yours (not odd that they had to shift that oval to fit the fork handle). You'll need to compare both the letter styles and the shapes of the marks from the samples linked to determine if this is a normal variant.
