Mark on Footed Platter Initials Inside Crown/Triple Plate

Postby deejay » Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:55 pm

No luck finding this mark. Anybody recognize it? Especially curious as to the age of this piece. Appologize for the bad pic's...although the one of the mark is quite good, I think. The tray/platter looks brown, instead of silver, due to poor nighttime lighting, and just being in a hury to get a picture! Good enough to get an idea of what it is, though.

That's a mark used by the Middletown Silver Company, Middletown, Connecticut. In business at least from about 1898 into the 1940's. The letters EPC below the mark stand for ElectroPlated on Copper.
