silver maker + date

My guess is that I have 6 knives and 6 forks of
Sheffield Levesley Brothers (1863-1929) silver plate, sterling silver collar (crown + lion passant = Sheffield) and Mother of Pearl handle. I guess so far I'm correct...
But on the collar I have two things I can't figure out:
the sterling silver manufacturer: WY?
and the date: a very strange L or something else...

thanks, AG2012!
This time it should work and be embedded correctly, sorry thanks for the help, Trev. First time for me.

Still trying to find out about the year and also the engravement (or how is that called in English?) on the blade.

Hi Ann,
We'll need a sharp close-up of the William Yates ferrule mark to give you the date.

Better picture now, I guess it's the year 1909...

Anyone who knows about the engravement on the blade? Is this made by the silver plate maker, does it tell anything about the year it was made?
