I have acquired a squat circular covered sugar bowl, with twin handles
I think it is perhaps silver plate on brass - as there is a yellow colour showing through in places
It has a floral embossed pattern on it
Plain Footed base, with straight sides
Embossed lid with leaf and acorn (bud) finial
Twin Handled
Approximately 4" tall, and 7" from edge of handle to edge of handle
There are 3 marks on the base
There clearest is 3 towers in the centre (similar to that of edinburgh, scotland) - there is a capital 'S' in an old fashioned script to the right (as far as I can make out)
The symbol to the left I can't decipher. I thought I could see a star - to the right of a letter - could be C, im just not certain
Any idea on where it comes from would be appreciated
I'm sorry, I do not know how to attach photographs to this post - although I do have some available

The three towers in the centre are clear - it definately looks like a capital S to the right - I can't tell the mark to the left
Bowl with cartouche for engraving either side

Corbell & Co. appear to be the likely candidate.

Yes, thank you
I suppose when looking at the marks, this could be the case
I had in fact already been informed of this by another expert, however the marks didnt really compare
I can see that what I thought could be a star, could possible be the o of & Co.
Ok, that's great - I just need to find the date now - at least I know its not that old.
