Help with mark identification

Postby zacharyjeff » Fri Jul 28, 2006 10:25 am

I recently acquired this berry spoon and cannot identify the maker. The word "sterling" appears around the band below the mother of pearl handle so I'm unsure if the entire spoon is sterling or just the band? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

American Silver Company, Bristol, Connecticut. Founded in 1901 as the successor to Holmes & Tuttle. Bought out by the International Silver Company in 1935.

Only the ferrule is sterling, the spoon is silverplate.
