Need help with this piece--Italian silverplate 1779

I am trying to find some info on this piece. The marks say what looks like "CALES" (or maybe "EALES") "1779" on the back of the handle, and on the back corner of the blade it says "Italy" and "Silverplate". Any info would be appreciated. Sorry if the pictures arent that clear, it was the best I could do. Thanks.

I feel like an idiot, after looking again and seeing that it was an E not a C in Eales, it didn't take me long to find out that it is piece from Eales of Sheffield who have most likely been in business since 1779. If anyone has any other info on this company i would appreciate it. Is it english, or italian? any ideas about its age? Thanks.
