Triple Crown marks - early or mass product?

Postby ldj2452 » Thu Jul 13, 2006 8:01 am

My serving piece has unenclosed triple crowns on the bottom of the handle about ¼" from the flat service area. After previous research I thought it was early Swedish. I've since been told it is mass produced and not at all what I thought. Your advise with correct deciphering is greatly appreciated. ~ Linda

Your server is silverplate, made by Three Crowns Silversmiths of Pottstown, PA; they were in business from 1946 until sometime in the '60s and specialized in Scandinavian-style pieces.
