Wm Rogers - I know, I know, but I think this is coin silver

I didn't think I'd ever run into a Wm Rogers that wasn't silverplate, but I think this might be one. I was surprised by how highly decorated it is. I haven't measured specific gravity yet, though I will if everyone thinks I should. What do you think?

With a piece like that I would not hesitate to say that it is silverplate. To me it is one of those pieces that if it doesn't say sterling it isn't. Good luck either way.

Silverplate - 'York' pattern, introduced in 1900...

Oh well, that's too bad, but thanks for letting me know. I got carried away with what looked like a hand applied stamp which looked similar to the coin silver stamp Rainwater shows, though I knew the odds were against it. I'll keep looking, though.
