Silver plated very detailed desert spoons hallmark unknown?

Postby jstobbs » Sun Jul 02, 2006 4:09 pm

I am trying to establish the age of the spoons attached (see image below) and also where they where manufactured. They don't appear to be British but the three letters GIM appear at the top of the spoon are these family initials and if so whose are they?

The image attached shows detailed picture of the spoons including the hallmarks.

I've searched an number of websites but I am struggling to identify the hallmark. Can you anybody help me identify age of this silver plated spoons?

Kind Regards

I believe that's a silverplate mark used by William Hutton & Sons.

Thanks for the reply most appreciated. I've done some further searches and it looks like William Hutton & Sons are no longer trading. I wonder where I can find out what the 3 intials GIM engraved at the top of the are linked to? Well I will keep hunting.

Thanks again

Jason
