This is a heavy silver plate box, measuring 7" length, 4" width, 2" deep, resting on 4 'feet' that are soldered to each corner.
The top of the box is engraved and has the name 'Anita' in the middle of the engraving.
The inside of the box is divided in two (cigarette box?). The division through the middle, and covering all of the inside, is of a fragrant wood, which I presume to be sandalwood. It has retained its fragrance, though I have had it for over 25 years.
It was purchased in South Africa, but I found no reference to the mark which I presumed might be Dutch or English, on the site.
The first mark on the left is indecipherable to me.
Then there is a circle with what seems to have 3 points that have an indent in the middle of each where they reach the edge of the circle. Between the 3 points are 2 other points that are more solid and form a V at the edge of the circle. A pentagonal shape. There are 7 small lines between , making a total of 21 around the inner edge.
This is followed by a boxed A1 and a boxed SPC.
Thank you for any help. I have posted two pictures.
