Can anyone help with these marks?

Postby shannon11 » Thu Jun 15, 2006 9:40 pm

It looks like K K & Co in a shield, then a Capitol D, then a small d, then looks like another capitol d

and then under all, another d.

Can anyone tell me what it is? It is a two handled pot, too big to be a sugar bowl. It is 6 inches x 8 inches (width with handles) and 5 inches tall. the inside of the bowl is gold washed.

Thank you very much, here are links. Shannon

I think your picture has the marks upside down. That might be one of the silverplate marks used by Martin Hall & Company, Sheffield, England (1854-1897). The letters in the shield probably are MH & Co. The first four marks are really hard to read, my guess is EPNS.
