Please....can someone help me identify the age and/or maker of this Covered Serving Dish? It's quite heavy weighing just over 2 1/2 lbs. It has the initial "D" engraved on the front of the lid and for some reason the handle on the lid is removable, it's spring loaded.....(push down on the handle and twist it to remove or put back in place). This piece has 4 different markings on the bottom. Thank You!

the first three markings come from family crests and dont indicate anything to do with silver. you have a winged lion(i cant recall the exact name of the beast just now), a knights helmet, and an arm holding what looks to be a sword gorged by a turret(gorged means the arm is coming out of it).

i dont know enough about the other markings im afraid, though the "N.S" may indicate nickel silver.
