Paktong spurious hallmarks or silver

Wondering if anyone can help me with this? Need some confirmation of this chamberstick and I also have another similar but heavier with similar marks.
Thinking they are chinese import of paktong from early 1800's but not entirely sure.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Bobbie,

Welcome to the Forum.

Nothing so exotic I'm afraid. It's thought to be one of the many marks used by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield.

The mark is usually attributed to around 1835.

Thank you so much for the swift reply, very grateful and appreciative, just to let you know that if silverplate there is absolutely zero wear to plate and this is the other chamberstick I have. Any clue on this one? It was yellowed tarnish an on the base of the holder it was black tarnish, no wear again, the inner bit where the candle is placed has DS and a number as you can probably see. Going along your line of James Dixon & sons but it looks too good to just be plated.

That's the remains of the mark of Thomas Wilkinson of Birmingham, again this maker used a variety of marks.

Here's one similar to yours:

I understand your thoughts and doubts regarding some silver plated items. The quality of some makers, especially at this time, was exceptional.
