Art nouveau dressing table set marks - Help please!

Postby wildwoman » Mon Dec 09, 2013 4:38 am

I've bought in New Zealand an old dressing table set - mirror and brush in typical art nouveau desing and I can't find in database the marks on them :( All I understand from the marks - it's silverplated :)

Please help to identify the maker of this beautiful set and if it possible - it's age.

Hi Wildwoman,

Welcome to the Forum.

I've enlarged your mark image. Hopefully someone will have a answer for you.

Thank you for your help :)
If no one knows the maker - it is not very important, I only want to know a little more about the things I have.
I've dreamed for many years to find such a beautiful art nouveau mirror, and at last - I find it :) It doesn't matter that it is dagamed and in very pre-loved condition, I'll try to restore it :)
Today I've find in the web a link to the auction with the same mirror, and there is an info about maker - "A.B.Ld.". Does anybody knows such epns maker?
there is the link to the auction

EPNS usually means "electroplated nickel silver," meaning nickel silver is the base metal, which has been plated with silver. "Nickel silver" is not silver, but an alloy of copper (e.g., 60% copper, 20% nickel, 20% zinc) very often used as the base metal for silverplate.
