Silver Plated Soup Terrine? Hard to identify.

Hi,

is anyone able to identify these marks? They have been slightly polished off. Not sure what this item is really, guessing some kind of soup terrine and that it is silver plated. Really needs a good clean, would anyone be able to recommend a cleaning method to get the finish back?

It's a roll-top caviar dish. Do a web image search on those keywords, and you'll find similar ones.
