i forgot to mention that it has u.s.n. on the back also. most likely United States Navy

Hi, I think I am seeing the mark correctly and if so, it is Friedman Silver Company of Brooklyn, New York. This company began operating in the very early 1900s and continued until 1960 ? when Gorham Silver purchased the business.
