Gorham Tea Pot - help with year

Hi everyone!
I need help with this teapot. I bought it today at an antique shop. I was told it was silver but after searching this site it looks like it isn't. Now I am worried, is it even old??
The word GORHAM is half rubbed off and I can't find a date mark.
It has B54 on one of the feet and inside the lid.
It is hard to read in the pic but it also says 2 3/4 pints
