Help with Crystal Bowl Holder

Postby NNxo » Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:19 am

Hey everyone,

Clueless newbie here looking for help. I'm not exactly sure what the piece I have is called. It's almost more like a bowl holder than a bowl itself. The crystal bowl part in the middle can be removed. Basically the markings consist of a capital letter A with a circle around it. Below that marking there are a couple of letters. The last two letters are a capital E and a capital T. The first letter I cannot make out (it might be an "M") and I cannot be 100 percent positive it is a letter at all. I couldn't find anything on this site but this is my first time researching silver so I may have missed it. I'm just really curious as to how old this piece is and where it was made. If anyone knows anything or can put me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

I can't help with the maker of the piece, but it is likely to be only silver plated at best.

The use of the initials 'MET' is an indicator in some European countries that the item is made of non-precious metal.

For example, below is the official version that is applied in Poland:

Thanks so much for the info!

Sorry, I had no idea MET meant silver plated. I wouldn't have posted this in this forum if I had known. Thanks again.
