Cannot identify this mark. Is it a family crest?

Hey all I have a silver platter here that looks really old with engravings on the front with a monogram. The makers mark on the back is hard for me to find online does anyone have any idea whose mark this is?

Why would one engrave a family crest on the back with a serial number? Are there any other marks? Well made,well engraved - cannot be without any silver marks.Besides, the monogram is really hand engraved, the crest is impressed - stamped.Whenever I see items like this I ask myself if it is silver;test it - not difficult.

I have a similar plate with the same crest I tried to post pictures but apparently I am not adept in this forum. I can tell you though under the crest on the back it is numbered 3415 looks almost typed then under that another numbered hand written 12837. When you flip it around the other side says DOUBLE PLATE AND UNDER THAT WITH EACH LETTER BOXED EPC. I would love to learn more about this if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

EPC for Electro- Plated-Copper. Double Plate more or less a quality reference, to define the thickness of the silverplate.Somewhere I read; Objects could be double-plated, triple-plated, or quadruple-plated, with quadruple being the heaviest and, therefore, highest quality. Double-plated objects may have a silver surface as thin as 2/1000ths of an inch, while triple-plate may be approximately 4/1000ths, and quadruple-plate as high as 8/1000ths.The heavier the plating, the more durable the finish. You see it most often on late 19th- and early 20th-century silver plated items.

Any luck identifying the crest stamped on the back? I have a piece with the same mark, but it has the numbers 4 22/1 stamped under it. No other markings anywhere that I can find.

I have the same exact plate. However, mine does not have a monogram on the front. On the back, my number is 11313. Any ideas?
