Cigar Holder Hallmarks Help

I am posting this here because of the crown. I actuality I don't know if it is even british for sure but because I can not identify the exact markings and I am not knowledgeable in this area. This is an item I received from my mom who owned an antique shop and was fond of british and european antiques. It appears that the crown with the "X" resembles the sheffield marking but in a different orientation. Any help in identifying theese hallmarks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. If this is posted in the wrong forum I am sorry and will delete and repost in the correct forum if need be.

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
I hope I don't disappoint too much, but the marks your cigar holder are pseudo, they are not official hallmarks and it is unlikely that this case is made out of silver.
To me, it has the look of pewter.
Trev.

Thanks for the info. I have some pewter items that look much greyer. Is that because they are not polished or are they of a different grade?

You're welcome.
Modern pewter is generally 92% tin, 6% antimony and 2% copper.
Differences in color are probably differences in these percentages.
Pat.
