Teapot- unknown hallmarks

Postby crttr » Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:00 am

Hi All,
This is my first time to post so I hope I'm putting this in the right location. I have a teapot that has hallmarks on the bottom but I can't identify them. I'm not sure if they are fake or not. Any help would be appreciated. Attached are links to the hallmarks and to the teapot. Also should I polish the teapot. Any information of origin, if sterling or plate (or other) and age would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Steph

Hi Steph,

Welcome to the Forum.

I guess you've got us all stumped with this one. It will be a plater's mark, but maybe unidentified at the moment, just like hundreds of others are.

Yes, I would polish it, but be gentle and use a quality polish of the least abrasive sort.

Trev.
