Flatware Pattern, Mead & Robbins

Postby NancyCaroline » Thu Feb 10, 2011 12:07 pm

Hi Everyone,
Hoping someone can shed some light. I've about 30 pieces of this flatware, & haven't been able to find much info on Mead & Robbins...not even certain of whether it's plate or sterling. I found several pieces of sterling on the internet, & marks for silverplate, but none that match this. It is, as you can see, monogrammed. Any help is appreciated.
Best, Nancy

I believe Mead & Robbins were the retailer of your flatware. They were a Philadelphia jewelry company. There's quite a bit about them on the internet, and they're in the silver manufacturer's reference books such as "Rainwaters."

The pattern according to my silverplate references is Westminster which was a 1902 design that apparently was produced by C Rogers & Bros, F S Balster, Wm Rogers & Son and Rogers & Bro. Seems like an awfully long list of manufacturers, but that's what I'm seeing.

If your pieces don't say sterling, they are bound to be silverplate.

I hope this help some.
